Griflens interactive story beads are essentially an interactive entertainment platform that combines physical collectable and wearable beads with interactive story telling. The individual griflens are story blocks that allow children to mix and match in creative ways to make up stories, tell their friends and share online.
Kids can collect and trade the individual beads and wear their story on their wrist. With QR encoding and AWS cloud computing the beads take on a new life online. Kids can log in and select the scenario or location where they would like their story to take place and then simply scan the beads they want into the story and see the outcome instantly online.
Our team member Lena went to #NerdLearn in Toronto to introduce the technology behind the first generation logic engine that dynamically turns different combinations of characters, objects and scenarios into dynamic stories. She showed some sample code and answered audience questions.
You can view her presentation here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=aTTO2zGJ0bE (please pardon the tilt!)
Our story engine prototype is already up and running online with AWS cloud computing services. We are excited about how much we were able to achieve in just one weekend and have huge ideas about the future creative direction we will be building in the limitless cloud computing sandbox. This is just the beginning.
